Notes from the Grower(s)

The Sex Melon #3 mother used in this project is easily one of our team's favorite mother plants of all time, and she really shined in this mashup with the Grape Cake Head (Jungle Boys). From the beautiful dark purple and neon-green coloring, to the complex, tropical Sex Melon-dominant terpenes, this strain was an exciting cultivar to grow, and packed on some serious sugar. To top it all off, the majority finished very early, by day 55, and were some of the best to come out of our outdoor garden this year as well. In terms of phenotypic variation, we noticed that some plants wanted to grow more laterally, while others grew straight up, becoming the taller pheno of the two. An amazing array of terpenes developed quite early in all of the plants we tested, and remained a highlight throughout flower. Terpenes were consistently incredible across every plant, ranging from tropical, Sex Melon dominant, to sweet, foul strawberry key lime pie, to musky and gassy. Many of the sweeter profiles had an undertone of nail polish remover observable on the nose. By week 5, 100% of the Head Candy plants were purple like their Sex Melon mother, who exhibits one of the darkest purples in our line up. The Grape Cake Head brought some added structure to the mix, helping with overall yields. All plants had high calyx-to-leaf ratios, higher-than-average trichome accumulation, and very fat, granular calyxes. While bag appeal will not be a problem with this cultivar, look to the densest of the plants for your keeper cut as these tend to dry up and cure the most beautifully. Feminized Photoperiod
